Terms of Service

Acceptance and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By submitting a question or selecting a sign-in button beside our agreement notice, you agree to these Terms and represent that you are at least 18. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

We record the applicable Terms version, the date and time of acceptance, the guest or account identifier associated with the acceptance, and the 18-or-older representation. The corresponding Privacy Policy version is identified by its effective date. The Privacy Policy separately describes our information practices. Reading or acknowledging it is not blanket consent to every possible use of personal information.

The Service

Meforash is an experimental conversational tool for exploring biblical texts in English, including selected Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek editions and historical context. It uses a fine-tuned language model and may show source passages supplied to that model. Those editions are not original manuscripts. Source cards do not independently verify every generated claim, and model training does not establish one recovered original text.

We may change the model, prompts, sources, features, account options, free question limits, rate limits, or other parts of the Service; suspend features; or discontinue the Service. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes when practical, but beta availability and any particular free allowance are not guaranteed.

Accounts and access

The Service may offer limited guest use and email-based accounts. You are responsible for controlling your email account, browser, sign-in codes, invitations, and active sessions. Provide accurate information and promptly notify us at support@meforash.com if you believe access has been compromised. Do not sell, transfer, or share access credentials, evade limits, or create accounts or guest identities to circumvent restrictions.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service or others, enforce these Terms, comply with law, address security or cost risks, or stop abuse. We may terminate the beta or an account, subject to applicable law. The Service currently does not provide saved conversation history or an automated account-deletion tool; privacy and deletion requests are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Your content and generated output

You keep any rights you have in questions and other content you submit. You give Rowant Labs and its service providers a limited, nonexclusive, worldwide permission to host, transmit, reproduce, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service, generate the response you request, and comply with law. This permission ends when the content is no longer needed for those purposes, subject to backup, security, dispute, and legal-retention requirements.

Rowant Labs does not use conversations submitted through the application to train its models. Any future training use by Rowant Labs will require clear advance disclosure and a separate, prospective opt-in where appropriate; acceptance of these Terms does not grant retroactive consent for training.

Generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, offensive, or inconsistent across requests. Check consequential claims against appropriate sources and qualified people. Output is not a statement from God, spiritual authority, or a substitute for clergy, medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional advice. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for decisions affecting health, safety, legal rights, finances, employment, education, or another person’s welfare.

Meforash is not a crisis or suicide-prevention service and may fail to recognize or respond safely to urgent situations. Do not use its responses to justify harming yourself or another person, delaying needed care, or acting on a supposed command from God. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger or thinking about suicide or self-harm, do not rely on the Service; contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service.

You are responsible for evaluating and lawfully using output. We do not promise that output is unique, protectable, noninfringing, or suitable for a particular purpose. Other users may receive similar output.

Acceptable use

You may not use the hosted Service to:

• violate law or another person’s rights;
• threaten, exploit, stalk, harass, defraud, impersonate, or facilitate harm;
• submit malware or attempt unauthorized access, security probing, denial of service, or interference;
• evade quotas, rate limits, access controls, or cost controls;
• scrape, automate, resell, or provide bulk access without written permission; or
• misrepresent generated output as verified scholarship, professional advice, divine authority, or an official statement of Rowant Labs.

These hosted-service restrictions do not replace the separate licenses governing publicly released source code, documentation, model components, or third-party source texts.

Intellectual property and brand

Rowant Labs and its licensors retain their rights in the Service, Meforash branding, and materials not expressly released under another license. Public source code and documentation remain governed by their stated open-source licenses, including Apache License 2.0 where identified. Third-party biblical editions, software, and other materials retain their own notices and license terms.

The Meforash Brand Policy explains permitted factual references and restrictions on uses likely to imply sponsorship, endorsement, or official status. No use of the hosted Service grants a right to use Meforash names, logos, or marks in a confusing way.

Current free beta and future paid features

The current free beta does not authorize a charge. If we offer paid features later, the purchase flow will disclose the price, billing period, applicable taxes, renewal terms, cancellation method, refund terms, and any additional conditions before purchase. You must affirmatively opt in to a charge. Acceptance of these free-beta Terms alone does not authorize future payment or recurring billing.

Third-party services and links

The Service depends on third-party hosting, authentication, email, network, and model services. Their availability and terms may affect the Service. External links, including links to GitHub, take you to services operated under their own terms and policies. Rowant Labs is not responsible for third-party services it does not control, subject to rights and remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Availability and support

The Service may be slow, unavailable, rate limited, changed, or lost. We do not promise uninterrupted access, preservation of drafts or results, or a particular support response time. Saved conversation history is currently off. You are responsible for keeping any output you want to retain.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms prospectively as the Service changes. We will post the new version and effective date and provide clear advance notice of material changes when reasonably practical or required by law. We will obtain any additional consent required by law. A revised policy or continued use will not be treated as blanket retroactive consent for a materially different use of earlier conversation data.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided as is and as available. Rowant Labs disclaims express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, noninfringement, accuracy, availability, and security. We do not warrant that the Service or output will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, accurate, safe, or suitable for your needs.

Some laws do not allow particular warranty exclusions. These Terms do not exclude warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Rowant Labs and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from or related to the Service, even if advised that such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the aggregate liability of Rowant Labs and those persons for all claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the total amount you paid Rowant Labs for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These exclusions and limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any nonwaivable consumer rights. They also do not limit liability to the extent caused by fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury where applicable law prohibits that limitation.

Governing law and disputes

Nebraska law governs these Terms and disputes arising from them, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections or rights available under the law of your place of residence. You and Rowant Labs may bring a dispute in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not require arbitration.

Before filing a claim, you may contact support@meforash.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Contacting us is optional and does not shorten or waive any legal deadline.

General terms

If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; Rowant Labs may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the Service, subject to applicable law. These Terms and the policies they expressly incorporate are the agreement between you and Rowant Labs about the Service, except for any separate terms we both accept in writing.
